"Marrying" the Panel to the Aircraft

by jfrench on Tue Mar 20, 2007 6:27 pm

Hi,

What determines where the panel is displayed relative to the aircraft model?

With very limited knowledge, I've been trying to get aircraft designed for previous versions of FS to work in FSX. I've had quite a bit of luck with the panels using "Cfgedit", "FS Panel and Design Studio (Demo)", and simply copying code from other "Panel.cfg" files.

I've run into several problems where it appears that the relationship of the displayed panel is incorrect relative to the aircraft. More specfically, it appears that the panel is not visible because it's being obscured by a part of the aircraft model.

Could someone point me in the right direction as to where to find the answer to this problem? I find that general guidance is more helpful in the long run.

The "Guides" on this site have provided more help to me than anything I've found anywhere else. Congratulations to all concerned!

I personally don't have that much knowlegde of using old panels in FSX, but maybe someone else does?

You can also use one of the default panels for any aircraft you import in FSX. Just edit the panel.cfg and point it to one of the default aircraft.
