Captain Sim Legendary 727 (both 727-100 and 727-200 models)
PAYWARE
The Boeing 727, sometimes called the "Whisperjet" (as a result of the rear-mounted turbofan jet engines, passengers seated forward in first class could actually hear eachother whispering, which was quite uniqe in a time that hearing someone whispering aboard a jet plane was not possible due to loud engine noise), is a classic mid-size narrow-body trijet.

Captain Sim's Legendary 727 is a beautifully designed aircraft with a detailed exterior, high quality liveries, many cockpit systems that are simulated and interactive flight crew voices. The package contains four different models: 727-100, B727-100 Cargo, B727-200 and B727-200 Cargo. Many free liveries are included in the package, but there are also more than 300 other free liveries (third party) available on Captain Sim's website.

The flight dynamics are excelent. The control inputs are a bit slow, just like it should be on an old aircraft like the Boeing 727. Even the spoolup time of the engines is slow, which is normal for old jet engines. Another thing about old jet engines is that they produce a lot smoke. This effect is simulated as well, the amount of smoke depends on the amount of thrust.

There are many special animations: Animated window wipers (visible in exterior view mode only), opening cockpit windows (visible in vc and exterior view modes), airstairs in the tail and fuel dump with visual effects (a contrail of fuel is visible when the fuel dump is in progress). Allthough not all buttons are clickable in the virtual cockpit, it still looks nice in daylight or at night. All systems are accessible in 2d panel mode, including the flight engineer panel.

For anyone who is thinking that the thrust reversers are not modelled: The engines of most Boeing 727's are equipped with thrust reversers that do not extend any part or flap, so its not a model flaw, its perfectly normal (the Super 27 version does have two md-80 engines, which are equiped with different thrust reversers, ones that are visible).

NOTE FOR FSX USERS: The Captain Sim Legendary 727 is developed for FS2002/2004, however there is another version available for FSX only: 727 Captain. It is a remake of the Legendary 727, re-programmed from scratch. This model features many new FSX-only features.
