The Boeing 757 is a medium to long haul narrow body commercial passenger jet aircraft. The 757 was launched to replace the 727 and entered service in 1983. The production of the 757 has ceased in 2004. Blended winglets are available as a retrofit to increase fuel efficiency and range.
Like all the aircraft of the International Flightsim Design Group, it doesn't have a panel or virtual cockpit, only the exterior model. This 757 model looks quite alright, but if you compare it with the model developed by Project Open Sky, it doesn't look that good anymore. Of course, this model is quite old and orginally developed for FS2002, so its not really a surprise.
There are two different models: A General Electric and a Pratt & Whitney powered version. Unlike posky, this aircraft does have flexing wings, but its only gear compression based. The flight dynamics are not bad, but some other things about this model are: The horizontal stabilizer is not moving while the trim is in progress, the landing gear is floating while landing and the rudder is too effective (ever seen a 757 turn 180 degrees in a few seconds? No, neither have I). The rudder behaviour might be a problem for FS2004 and FSX users only, because this model was developed for FS2002. |
