Omwings Fokker F28 Fellowship
PAYWARE
The Fokker 28 Fellowship is a classic short-range, narrow body commercial passenger jet aircraft. The 65-85 seat F28 was announced in April 1962 to complement the highly successful F-27 Friendship turboprop. The F28-1000 prototype first flew on May 9, 1967. The final production models were the F28-3000 and the most successful F28, the F28-4000. Both versions are based on the F28-1000 and F28-2000 respectively. 241 F28s had been built when the production ceased in 1987.

The only payware Fokker jet out there is a development of Omwings, a german developer of a few classic FS aircraft and panel packages. This Fokker F28 is a detailed aircraft with an advanced panel. The liveries are well done. Only one livery (Fokker Demonstrator livery) is included, but others can be downloaded from their website. Many cockpit systems are modeled including realistic sounds. Engine sounds however are not included, the default 737 engine sound is used instead. When you start a flight, the default omwings menu-panel appears so you can choose from three startup modes: cold cockpit, ready for engine start and ready for taxi. The later is more like the default FS startup mode, you're ready to set flaps, trim, lights and then takeoff.

The cold cockpit mode will require some time reading the flight handbook before you know how to startup the aircraft. All animations seem to be accurate, except the stabilizer trim movement is not visible on the exterior. The virtual cockpit looks realistic, although you can't fly the aircraft in that mode because none of the buttons and handles are clickable. A passenger cabin is not included in the virtual cockpit mode, but you can see the interior thru the windows in one of the external view modes. The flight dynamics seem to be realistic and the autopilot is working perfectly.
