Hi i am having trouble slowing down the plane when it comes to landing. How do i slow down the speed when descending?

To slow down from cruise speed, you have to make sure that the fuel tanks are not full. I don't know on what kind of aircraft you're flying, but it would be best to have no more than 30% of fuel left.
When you start your decent, pull down the trottles, and slow down while you keep the nose up a bit. Then start to add flaps. For a fast decent, you can also use the spoilers.
