Allied Fs Group YS-11
review
The NAMC YS-11 is a twin-engined turboprop airliner built by the Nihon Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation in Japan, a joint venture of Fuji Heavy Industries, Kawasaki, Mitsubishi, Shin Meiwa, and Showa. The YS-11 was the only successful Japanese commercial aircraft. A few YS-11's are still in commercial operation on inter-island routes in backwater areas of the Philippines. A total of 182 YS-11's were produced between 1962 and 1974.
Allied Fs Group (AFG) is a freeware flightsim developer group, founded in late August 2000. Their YS-11 is available in various packages, available in the AVSIM Library. The exterior is of average quality and liveries not bad. Not too many systems are simulated and both the panel and virtual cockpit are quite simple. The sounds are not that good and not loud enough. Flying the aircraft is not difficult, although you have to watch out for engine overheat, which will cause the engine to stop running. There are not many differences between this model and the payware model made by Aerosim. However, AFG's model seems more accurate when it comes to panel realism and the Aerosim model is just a bit more detailed on the exterior.
