iFDG MD-11
review
iFDG's McDonnell Douglas MD-11 was released back in 2003 and updated to version 1.5 in August 2004. Like all iFDG's aircraft, this one doesn't have a panel, virtual cockpit and engine sound, so you need to use one of the default panels and sound or download them yourself.
The exterior model looks great and all the usual animations are present. The flight dynamics are well balanced, flying this aircraft feels like a heavy aircraft should feel. Unfortunately, the main landing gear is at the wrong angle and not flexible like the one of the Overland model. Although the rudder is effective, it doesn't move as long as the aircraft is on the ground. It seems that iFDG wanted to increase the realism by separating the movement of the nose wheel from the movement of the rudder and decided to keep the rudder 'dead' on the ground. So I guess it is a matter of taste. The brake system behaves quite realistically, it takes a lot of runway length to stop this heavy.
