FeelThere/Wilco Citation X
review
The Cessna Citation X is a long range, medium sized business jet aircraft. The Citation X is with a top speed of Mach 0.92 (703 mph) the world's fastest business jet and the third fastest civil airplane ever, after the Tupolev Tu-144 and the Concorde. The high cruise speed is accomplished by a low drag design, the high bypass Rolls Royce engines with large intake and the highly swept wing. The development of the Citation X was first announced in October 1990. The prototype flew for the first time on December 21, 1993. Just like the Concorde, the Citation X lands with a high (about fourteen degrees) nose-up pitch attitude. However, the downside of this nose-up landing is that any banking in excess of two degrees will cause a wing tip strike. A total of 279 Citation X airframes have been delivered by end of 2007.
FeelThere developed a detailed Cessna Citation X for FS2004 and FSX. The panel and virtual cockpit are well designed and look just like the real Citation X. Many cockpit systems are simulated including TCAS and a weather radar. The Flight Management Computer (FMC) is modeled as well, although it seems a bit simplified. You can load the flightplan that you've created with the FS flight planner with one click. SIDs and STARs are available in the FMC database.
There is also a passenger cabin modeled in the virtual cockpit mode. An (ugly) animated flight attendant sits and stands in the passenger cabin. All usual animations are present, including special animations such as maintenance mode (screenshot 8). The wheels of the main landing gear are sinking a bit into the ground on takeoff and landing. A well written PDF manual is included, which you gonna need since the Cessna systems are very different from the Airbus or Boeing systems.
