Ready For Pushback 747-200 (v2)
review
The Boeing 747 is a long-range, wide body commercial passenger jet aircraft. The Boeing 747-200 is an improved 747-100, but with more powerful engines and higher takeoff weights.
Originally developed by VMAX Flight Systems for FS2002, but compatible with FS2004. The Ready For Pushback package contains a highly detailed representation of the Boeing 747-200 in passenger and cargo variant. Unfortunally, only the version (passenger and freighter) with Pratt & Whitney (PW) engines is modeled. All the usual animations are present, like opening passenger and cargo doors.
The Boeing 747 is a quite easy aircraft to handle, but the RFP 747-200's flight dynamics are not that realistic, because the 'ground effect' is very limited, which means that the flare doesn't have much effect on the decent rate. That makes it difficult to make a smooth landing.
Many cockpit systems are modeled. Those systems are also accessible in the detailed virtual cockpit. There is also a (less detailed) passenger cabin modeled in the virtual cockpit. Due to old gauges, this aircraft is not compatible with FSX. The package was being sold by panelshop.com, but since August 2007 it has been released as freeware and made available in the AVSIM Library.
The package contains many high quality liveries: RFP House Livery, Air Canada, Air France, America West, British Airways, Continental, ElAl, KLM, Lufthansa, Qantas OC, SAS, Swissair, United Airlines OC, Virgin Atlantic OC, China Airlines Cargo, JAL Cargo and Flying Tigers.

It's sad that the rfp doesn't come with a manual and some people just dump it cause they can't use it, and i was about to be one of them, but i searched and struggled a bit but i found a link to the manuals. enjoyhttps://www.fs2000.org/last/news.php?id=12174

You can actually have more official liveries in Flightsim by searching ready for pushback. The liveries are available in eight or nine packs (auto-installer).on 02/19/2009 at 17:33:15

The soundset doesn't seem to represent the jt9d very well, is that true?on 04/18/2009 at 10:38:25
Where can we find the passenger loaders and take off calculator?on 04/18/2009 at 10:51:03
And last question, would the flight dynamics be better if I used the posky's .air file?on 04/28/2009 at 12:10:53

I have the RFP 747-200 since years. I bought it when it still was a PAYWARE,and in "boxed version".It shure came with a small size manual, but with HUNDREDS of pages, and it was (still is) possible to print all those hundreds of pages from PDF files in A4 sheets.. I Have the best and most expensive 767-300ER,747-400,MD-11,737-800 addon's from PMDG..and LEVEL-D, but the one i love most is still the Old..analogue RFP 747-200 :-)

it dosent show in fs2002!on 06/29/2009 at 22:35:40
I always wanted to try my hand on a detailed sim of the 747, and before I bought the Payware PMDG 744, I downloaded this fine 742 once it went freeware. Its a wonderful plane, and from my personal insight as someone with some aircraft maintenance training and also a pilot's license, I'd say the plane is modeled pretty well. My complaint with it is that it is a bit of a system hog, and seemed to eat up more resources than my PMDG. Also, the exterior model appears a bit overly shiny. Other than that, I couldn't find much wrong with this plane; didn't even notice the ground effect problem either. I'd recommend anyone who enjoys flying heavy airliners to give the RFP a try!on 08/30/2009 at 0:18:31
I downloaded the RFP 747-200 freeware version for 2004. and it's a great plane, yes it's a frame hog, butif you want realism this is it. I do wish that the manuals were in book form like the justflight 727 package and
Airbus 340. you can download the freeware version here along with the texture paks (9 of them). the link will take you to page 213, just hit previous buttons till you get to 211. scroll down almost to the bottom and you'll
see it . the textures are below the plane.
