Premier Dash 6-100/300
review
The de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter is a STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) turboprop utility aircraft and with more than 800 built, the most successful aircraft program in Canada's history. Development of the aircraft began in 1964, with the construction of a prototype in November 1964. The first flight was on 20 May 1965. The DHC-6 can carry 19-20 passengers over a distance of 920 nm (1,705 km) and is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PT6A-27 turboprop engines.
Premier Aircraft Design developed this Dash 6-100/300 Twin Otter for FS2004 and FSX. The exterior looks nice, but the textures are not so great. All usual animations are present including various doors that can be opened. The panel is quite simple, although it is equipped with working TCAS. The panel textures are low resolution and look a bit blurry on high resolution displays. Same for the virtual cockpit, low resolution textures and very simple. The passenger cabin and wings are also visible in the virtual cockpit. There are various models available, such as the Dash 6-100, -300 and the sea otter with floats. The engine sounds inside the aircraft are nice, but a bit quiet.
