DM Flight Sim One-Eleven
review
British Aircraft Corporation One-Eleven - also known as the BAC 1-11 - is a classic short-range, narrow body jet aircraft, designed to replace the Vickers Viscount. The first flight of prototype G-ASHG in British United Airways livery took place on August 20, 1963. Unfortunately this aircraft crashed with the loss of all on board on 22 October that same year. Still, the 1-11 was one of the most successful British airliners with 244 constructed airframes and served until its widespread retirement in the 1990s due to Stage III noise restrictions.
DM Flight Sim is developer of freeware classic British jet airliners. Their One-Eleven is a nice model with panel, virtual cockpit and custom sounds. All usual animations are present and seem to be accurate. There are 5 different models available. The exterior looks a bit simple, which is (for the most part) due to lousy textures. Liveries are not very detailed and look blurry due to the low resolution (512x512) textures. Someone should re-texture this aircraft at some point to make it look more 'real'. The panel looks realistic, the majority of the buttons and knobs are clickable. One of the sub-panels is a dynamic checklist for takeoff, climb and approach.
The flight dynamics are not bad, the control inputs are a bit slow, just like it should be on an old aircraft. Engine smoke appears automatically when the engines are at full power. The virtual cockpit looks nice, not bad for freeware. Knobs and buttons in the vc are 2d textures and also clickable. Interesting feature is the small icons panel which allows you to choose various views, zoom in and out, enable/disable wings in the vc (wingviews) and load the cold/dark configuration which allows you to start up the aircraft yourself. The included panel manual comes in handy in that case.

I have this working in FSX. Took some thinking and trial and error...oh and couple beers. Still trying to sort out the liveries.on 07/16/2009 at 2:12:16
The texture are not blurry except that David saves them with mips as his system requires them. Use the texture converter and all is a lot betterAnyone with problems should ask at https://www.cbfsim.org where the model is supported.
