PAD SD3-60
review
The Short 360 was designed as a short-field, low cost aircraft and was build by the Short Brothers of Belfast in Northern Ireland, which is a division of Bombardier since 1989. The Short 360 was developed from the military "Skyvan" and the larger 330 civil variant. It seats 36 passengers and is powered by 2 Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-65AR turboprops, giving it a 337 km/h (209 mph) cruising speed and a range of 1178 kms (730 mls). The Short 360s were very cheap to operate, but did not offer much comfort to the passengers. The production of the 360 ceased in 1991 after 165 deliveries.
Premier aircraft designs developed this average quality SD3-60 add-on for both FS9 and FSX. The exterior is not so detailed and the textures could be better. The panel is quite nice and includes a fake weather radar. The virtual cockpit is very simple with low resolution 2d textures. A passenger cabin is also part of the vc, which is even more simple. Engine sounds are available as separate download. A freighter model is also available.
All usual animations are present, although the main landing gear animation could use some improvement. The wheels are sinking in the runway on takeoff and landing. Also, the rudder effect in the air is very limited. This might be due to some kind of yaw damper, which I haven't detected on the panel.
