Camsim Boeing 787

review

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner (or 7E7 prior to 28/1/05 with the E for 'Efficient') is a mid-size widebody aircraft for medium to long ranges. The 787 is currently under development by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. The 787 is an all-new airplane with 50% of the primary structure made of composite materials, like carbon fiber reinforced plastics. It's aimed at a potential replacement market for the Boeing 757/767, Airbus A300-600 and A330-200/-300. It will carry 210 passengers in a three-class configuration and over 330 in a single-class configuration.

A range of new technologies are being incorporated into the Boeing 787. Besides the new composite materials, the 787 will have large auto-dimming windows at eye-level, high cabin humidity and air pressure and super-quiet operation. The 787 Dreamliner has orders for 878 airplanes from 57 customers (march 2009).

Camil Valiquette (Camsim) developed this Boeing 787 Dreamliner add-on for FS9 and FSX. Various versions are available: The 787-3, 787-8, 787-9, 787-9 cargo, 787-10 and the 787 super 11. The exterior isn't very detailed, but the shape seems quite right. The textures are simple and include mipmaps, which means that the textures may appear blurry sometimes. The panel is very simple and made up with a few default gauges. The auto throttle is a bit too slow, so I wouldn't recommend using it. The animated ground service vehicles, or AGS as Camsim calls it, are very simple and look like they're made of paper. So, if you like detailed and/or realistic flightsim models, you will be disappointed. The alternative is the payware Abacus 787, which isn't good either.

Well, way better than Abacus. Project Open Sky is creating a 787 right now, but they are waiting for the real 787 to fly before they continue their work.

I bet the posky 787 will blow all 787 models away, as they did with their 777.

some of the liveries on the camsim website are developed for fsx **
also I'm not getting any mipmapped textures. Maybe its just in the fs9 versions? Im a fsx user.
I hope POSKY releases their 787 model soon.

They mentioned that they won't release it until the real 787 takes flight.

On flightsim.com, there's a really nice panel for this plane (at least for FSX, don't know about FS9)

The Caim sim 787 is the best 787 available for flight sim.The Real 787 is delayed again due to structaural problesms and inside talk is that it may not fly for atleast a year.So enoy the camsim 787.
Also cam sin A350 version 2 is released. It looks and flies very close to reality.Present time is the best time.Future is not in our hands.

I'm having trouble with this aircraft. It downloaded just fine, but the upper half of the plane is missing, and you can just look straight through to the inside of the plane. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

It is happening on two different downloads (both 787-9 cargo) for UPS and Fed Ex.

It says that it has been made compatible for FSX, and that is what I am running.
